Ndumiso Lindi shows his vulnerable side as he opens up to audiences with insights into his own personal stories of growing up in his hilarious new one-man show, Boys Don’t Cry.  Following a successful run in Johannesburg in 2019, Ndumiso ‘The Roosta’ Lindi will be bringing the show to the Baxter Theatre from the 27th of April to the 2nd of May, 2020.

Boys Don’t Cry is a dedication to his late father, his life and times and the show is a personal comedy story that takes the audience on a laugh-a-minute journey through his life, words and wisdom.

The comedian’s delivery of these emotive tales is enhanced by a knack for physical comedy that matches his way with words and his clever structuring of the show”. – Bruce Dennill, pARTicipate

Ndumiso shares stories from his childhood – from his family to the expectations of not showing your emotions as a man, but most importantly, the relationship between a son and father and the pressures of living up to your father’s expectations.

He tells his jokes with charm and his stories with grace and style, delivering vignettes of village life and boarding school escapades”. – Lesley Stones

Synonymous for being the ‘gentleman of South African comedy’, Ndumiso is best known for his deep voice, soul-warming smile, booming laughter, original content and seamless deliveries as he uses humour to deal with personal pain-points – proving in true South African humour-style, that tragedy and time equal to comedy.

Expect infectious feel-good humour from this highly-talented comedian whose accessible and well-constructed narrative has endeared him to audiences of all races across the country. “I learnt early on that I had to understand my audience in order to appeal to them,” says Lindi.

Boys Don’t Cry will be showing from 27 April to 2 May at the Golden Arrow Studio at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town (Main Road, Rondebosch).  Tickets from R135 are available through Webtickets.  The show starts at 20h00 and carries a PG-14 age restriction.
